Do I need to be almost fluent to start?
No — the whole point is you don't have to be. Say it however you can, mix in your own language when you're stuck.
Is it really free?
The software is completely free — no subscription, no credits to buy. AI calls run through your own provider accounts and are billed directly to you.
Do I need to bring my own API keys?
Yes, three of them: DeepSeek (conversation), AssemblyAI (speech recognition) and MiniMax (speech synthesis). All three are self-serve and take a few minutes to set up. In exchange your costs are fully transparent, and your conversations never run through our accounts.
What happens to my conversations?
Your conversations stay on your device — we don't store them on our servers.
Which languages are supported?
Two directions for now: Chinese speakers learning English, and English speakers learning Chinese. We'd rather go deep on these two than spread thin across many languages.
